Dear Parents & Students,
We have missed playing music in person, with all of our awesome students and can't wait to see your smiling faces again!
While most schools will be returning to full time classroom lessons from next week, DIM will NOT be resuming our music lessons and rehearsals on site in schools until permitted to do so. We are hopeful of a term 3 return and are currently working on creating super safe and hygienic teaching environments so that everyone can return to music with confidence.
Until we're back on school grounds, we encourage you to keep playing your instruments at home as much as you can! DIM Connect is a great way to keep up your motivation and play with other students online, and we're currently working hard planning our transition back into schools from this online learning platform.
If you haven't picked up your instrument in a while, now is a great time to start thinking about it - it will make your transition back into face to face lessons so much easier. Even if you just play through your pieces by yourself or with a friend, a few times a week. If you can't remember some of your notes, go back to the beginning and start with some of the easier exercises.
Why not put on a show for your family, pets or neighbours - zoom concerts work great too! As long as you're playing your instrument, those pathways in your brain are getting a workout, and that's always a great thing!
If you'd like to arrange some private zoom lessons in advance of the return to face to face lessons, get in touch with our DIM office and we can help to get it organised.
